MBS with new security and building automation solutions at light+building in Frankfurt am Main
/Encrypted communication and secure control of data traffic
Krefeld, February 06, 2018 - The industrial and building automation specialist MBS will be showcasing its complete product range for security and building automation solutions at this year's light+building from March 18 to 23, 2018.
The company will be exhibiting at Light+Building in Frankfurt in Hall 9.1 at Stand E66 in the OPEN BUILDING AUTOMATION marketplace area. The MBS Universal Gateways, which are available both with and without integrated protocol hardware adapters in a compact device, will be on display. The gateways serve as a communication interface for the various communication protocols in industrial and building automation. All important communication protocols are available, such as BACnet, CAN, Dali, KNX, LON, M-Bus and PROFINET - the MBS Universal Gateways offer the right solution for almost every requirement.
This integration eliminates the need for the usual external bus couplers, reducing the amount of cabling required. The gateways can also be connected to serial or network-based communication protocols more quickly.
Building automation according to all the rules of security with the new "BAC-Guard" add-on
In 2018, MBS's trade fair presence will once again be dominated by the topic of security in building automation. The current trend towards using company-wide IT structures in building automation places new demands on the protection of transmission paths. At light+building, the pioneer in the field of BACnet Network Security (BNS) will be presenting the new "BAC-Guard" add-on for the UBR-02 BACnet security router for the first time. The security architecture in accordance with the BACnet Addendum-G standard has been integrated into the UBR-02 BACnet router since 2016. This allows comprehensive BACnet communication via the company network to be encrypted and data access to be authorized.
In addition to the BACnet functions according to Addendum-G, the optional "BAC-Guard" component of the UBR-02 BACnet router offers blacklist and whitelist filters that allow effective control of BACnet data traffic. BAC-Guard controls communication and activity at device level. Part of the security concept is that the connection to individual devices or device groups can be completely blocked, and individual BACnet services can be given access or rejected. The combination of BACnet Security and BAC-Guard creates a security system that effectively protects against unwanted access.
BACeye - the "Swiss army knife" for building automation
BACeye gives BACnet users easy access to BACnet devices, their objects and properties. In order to check systems for a desired status, the Implementation Test Plugin was developed for BACeye, which will be on show for the first time in Frankfurt am Main. The plugin can be configured via test plans so that, for example, existing devices and objects are checked for compliance with AKS (system code). Furthermore, users can determine whether the design of an entire system complies with the specifications or just test a single device (unit test).
Another new feature in BACeye is the offline mode. Here, BACeye records a point of the respective system, which can be reloaded later and navigated offline.
Together with partners Gesytec and Synavision and at the special show SECURE! Connected Security in Buildings
Partners at the MBS stand will be the Aachen-based company Gesytec and the Bielefeld-based company synavision - both have a close partnership with MBS.
Gesytec GmbH is the world's number one provider of LON interfaces. Gesytec offers the fastest LON routers, which are also used as IP gateways, as well as the largest range of Easylon LON interfaces. The GesySense wireless measuring system offers reliable and cost-effective control of the cold chain in accordance with HACCP rules. With HD-PLC LON, Gesytec offers solutions for the latest powerline technology.
synavision GmbH was founded by researchers from TU Braunschweig and RWTH Aachen University and develops digital quality management methods for the construction industry. synavision is the first company worldwide to offer software for building owners and engineers that can be used to implement technical monitoring for building technology in digital form from the planning stage through to operation.
MBS is also supporting the special show "SECURE! Connected Security in Buildings" in Hall 9.1, where the benefits of security technology in a typical building environment will be demonstrated in a live presentation. Visitors can experience cross-manufacturer security technology in three scenarios: hotel, office and industry.
