MBS Universal BACnet router

BACnet router

Experienced interpreters for comprehensive data communication

The universal BACnet routers (UBR) from MBS are indispensable interfaces for industrial and building automation. Like media converters, they connect BACnet networks of different technologies. As they have such a central function, the routers support the current BACnet revision 22, which means they can be used to set up the innovative Secure Connect(BACnet/SC) security infrastructure, but can also be used in existing BACnet environments.

With the new BACnet/SC data link layer, the UBR also received a new web interface with a different structure that includes additional pages for protected communication - for example for data exchange between the individual devices, for encryption and for the certificates required for this.

As before, the UBRs support BACnet/IP, BACnet Ethernet, BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/LonTalk. In this way, building management systems, DDC stations, field devices and controllers can be easily interconnected to form a common network.

The universal BACnet router UBR-01 enables the implementation of the BACnet network topologies ISO 8802-2 (also known as BACnet/Ethernet), BACnet/IP and MS/TP (serial BACnet networks based on RS485).

UBR-02

The UBR-02 routes between the media MS/TP (RS485), Ethernet and IP, which can thus be interconnected to form a common BACnet network. With two network connections, the UBR-02 can now connect two separate IP areas for the first time.

The Universal BACnet Router (UBR) connects BACnet over LonTalk with BACnet/IP. This gives property operators a cost-effective way of connecting their BACnet over LonTalk-based building technology to modern IP technology.
