MBS with complete product portfolio at Light + Building

Universal Gateways Multi, each with two integrated protocol hardware adapters, round off the presentation

Krefeld, February 23, 2016 - MBS will be showcasing its complete product range for building automation solutions for the first time at its own stand in Hall 9 at the Light + Building trade fair in Frankfurt. The exhibits will include the three Multi universal gateways, each with two integrated protocol hardware adapters in one compact device. These are the PROFINET+M-Bus, PROFINET+KNX or PROFINET+LON adapters. The integration eliminates the need for the usual external bus couplers, reducing the amount of cabling required. The gateways can also be connected to serial or network-based communication protocols more quickly.

Integrated M-Bus driver

With the integrated M-Bus driver, it is possible to scan the M-Bus meters automatically. The M-Bus project planning can then be generated largely automatically via the web interface. Depending on the gateway, BACnet, PROFINET and Modbus configurations can also be generated from the detected M-Bus data points.

Further exhibits from the MBS universal gateway series are the models with one protocol hardware adapter each, such as KNX, LON, M-Bus or Profinet. They also provide exceptional flexibility. With numerous communication protocols available - including BACnet - the MBS gateways offer the right solution for almost every requirement. Manufacturer-specific protocols can also be implemented on request.

BACeye 2.0

The brand new version BACeye 2.0 will also be on display. This tool from MBS gives BACnet users easy access to BACnet devices, their objects and properties. In order to professionally commission and operate installations based on the BACnet communication protocol, the latest version of BACeye has been enhanced with essential functions. In addition, the BACnet Explorer BACeye 2.0 now supports BACnet protocol revision 14.

Together with partner vyzVoice

The partner at the MBS stand is the Luxembourg-based company vyzVoice - the two companies have enjoyed a close strategic partnership since the beginning of 2015. The pan-European company has a vision: to use its own platform to make the world of big data available to everyone in a way that is easy to understand, cost-effective and user-friendly with attractive user interfaces. The excellent collaboration between MBS and vyzVoice has resulted in the new "vyzVoice Ready" gateway series. Their software improves the big data platform as well as the end user experience. The joint end-to-end solutions enable automatic provisioning, automatic device detection and multiple levels of data encryption and security.

Reliable building automation

This year's MBS trade fair appearance is also characterized by the topic of security in building automation. Together with the Fraunhofer FKIE, MBS is working on the "Building Automation Reliable Network Infrastructure" (BARNI) project. The aim of this development is to improve the reliability and security properties of building automation with new hardware and software components based on the BACnet protocol.

MBS is also supporting the "Digital Building" special show on outdoor area 11 (between halls 8, 9 and 11). Here, pioneering technologies will be used to bring digitalization in buildings to life.
