Update for the visualization and analysis of BACnet networks

The current version BACeye 2.0 gives BACnet users easy access to BACnet devices, their objects and properties

In order to professionally commission and operate installations based on the BACnet communication protocol, the latest version of the BACeye tool from MBS has been enhanced with essential functions. The BACnet Explorer BACeye 2.0 now supports BACnet protocol revision 14. With the extended watchlist, current values and their changes can be displayed and properties logged, and the history can be exported.

In addition, the visualization and analysis software now offers device management functions and recording of BACnet communication in packet protocols. This function makes it possible to record the read and written values. The packet logs can then be visualized using appropriate software (wireshark). Furthermore, BACeye 2.0 fulfills the requirements of the B-OWS (BACnet Operator Workstation). "This software update provides BACnet users with significant support when it comes to visualizing, analysing and monitoring their BACnet networks," sums up Nils-Gunnar Fritz, COO of Krefeld-based MBS GmbH.

Features for documentation and clarity

To document the exchange of information, BACeye 2.0 can be used to generate EDE files (so-called BACnet data point lists) and to read out, graphically display and export trend log data. Time schedules can also be clearly displayed and modified.

So that users can benefit directly from these functions, the MBS BACnet gateways are supplied with a special BACeye license as a USB card. This enables unrestricted access to MBS devices. "This update is not only of immediate benefit to our existing customers," says Fritz. "It also makes the leading tool for building automation an attractive tool for new customers."
