MBS joins the Open Connectivity Foundation

MBS GmbH has become a member of the Open Connectivity Foundation OCF (https://openconnectivity.org) in order to pave the way for the future of classic building automation. "After joining the Thread Group, our membership of the OCF is a logical step," says MBS Managing Director Nils-Gunnar Fritz. "We want to combine our expertise in the field of classic building technology with the technologies of the Internet of Things."

With almost 500 members, the OCF is currently the largest industry group that develops communication standards, specifications and a certification program for devices that can interact with each other in the Internet of Things (IoT). Industry giants such as Cisco, Intel, Samsung and Schneider Electric are also members. Its aim is to ensure the interoperability of devices from different manufacturers. "With over 30 years of experience in industrial and building automation, we are now expanding our product range towards modern IoT architectures," announces Fritz. "We will be presenting the first products that integrate both Thread and OCF at Light + Building from March 8 to 13 in Frankfurt." There, interested parties will also have the opportunity to take a closer look at Open Connectivity, as OCF will also be represented as a partner at the Krefeld-based building automation specialist's stand.
