Features
BACeye fit for BACnet/SC
The BACnet Explorer enables easy access to the BACnet devices and their objects and properties. In addition, EDE files ("BACnet data point lists") can be generated, trend log data can be read out, displayed graphically and exported. Time schedules can also be clearly displayed and modified. Typical applications of BACeye are the commissioning of BACnet installations, the analysis of observed problems and the monitoring and operation of BACnet devices.
The "Swiss army knife" for the commissioning, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of building automation networks supports the current revision 22 of the BACnet standard. This makes the innovative tool ideal for use in networks that rely on the BACnet/SC security infrastructure.
Revision 22 of the BACnet standard
The "Swiss army knife" for the commissioning, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of building automation networks supports the current revision 22 of the BACnet standard. This makes the innovative tool ideal for use in networks that rely on the BACnet/SC security infrastructure.
Snapshot
A system status can be mapped as a snapshot, which can be both exported and imported again. This allows the status documented as a snapshot during commissioning to be compared with the current system status in the event of faults, for example.
Visualization of the BACnet Port Object
BACnet Port Object can be displayed and fully visualized with all properties in the interface.
The BACnet test plug-in
In order to check systems for a desired status, the BACnet Test Plug-In was developed for BACeye/SC. The plug-in can be configured via test plans so that, for example, existing devices and objects are checked for compliance with AKS (system code). Furthermore, users can determine whether the design of an entire system complies with the specifications or just test a single device (unit test).
Another feature of BACeye/SC is the offline mode. BACeye/SC records a point of the respective system, which can be reloaded later and navigated offline.
Name assignments for proprietary objects, properties and enumerations
In addition to the objects and properties defined in the standard, BACnet allows you to define your own "proprietary" objects and properties. The BACnet standard provides for a number range outside the range of predefined objects. With this functionality, we enable users to store names and descriptions for the numbers. If BACeye now finds a "proprietary" property, it looks it up in its list and - if available - displays the stored identifier.
Exports property values of devices as csv file
BACnet objects have various properties, some of these properties are output within the EDE file. BACeye also outputs properties that are not part of the EDE file. This function can now be used to compile any properties that can then be output in a csv format.
Recording of BACnet communication in packet logs
When values are read and written, this function records which communication actually takes place between the devices. The recorded packet logs can then be visualized using appropriate software (e.g. Wireshark).
Detailed specification of the query parameters for logbuffer
When reading out the log buffer, detailed specifications can be made as to how the readout should take place.
Triggering the Timesync/UTCTimesync service
BACeye sends the current time to the device so that it is adopted.
Trigger ReinitializeDevice service
The "ReinitializeDevice" service can be used to trigger a backup and restore, and the device can also be informed that it should perform a reinitialization (e.g. cold start, warm start).
Comfort dialog for commandable objects
Commandable objects not only have a current value "PresentValue" but also a so-called PriorityArray. The PriorityArray comprises 16 possible values. The value with the highest priority is always displayed as "PresentValue". If two write commands are triggered on such an object, the one with the higher priority takes effect first. If this takes back its influence, the value with the highest priority takes effect. BACeye offers the option of viewing and changing all 16 values simultaneously. The exception is priority 6, which is blocked for user access.
Triggering the DeviceConmmunicationControl service
DeviceCommunicationControl can be used to inform a device that it should stop or restrict its communication - or resume it, e.g. only respond when asked (no longer communicate on its own), no longer communicate at all... etc.
EventSummary
This summary provides a list of all faults currently present in the respective device (if any)
Change display and history display of the values in the watchlist
To monitor changes in the value of various properties, they can be added to the watchlist in BACeye. This list shows the respective current values, how often the value has already changed and logs the last value changes per property. The user can thus view a history of the last values and then export these values.
However, the values are not saved persistently (apart from the export, which must be triggered manually).
BACnet networks
The BACnet Who-Is/I-Am services make it easy to identify devices in the network and read in an image of the device properties and objects. A detailed display of all objects allows access to the object properties.
Time schedules
With BACeye, BACnet Calendar and Schedule objects can be conveniently displayed and edited. The weekly schedule and the exception schedule can be edited separately. The combined display provides an overview of the actual effective value.
EDE files
Generate EDE files in the simplest way. The EDE file (Engineering Data Exchange) is a format for a BACnet data point list, specified by the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU).
Alarms
Receive and display BACnet event
notifications (fault messages and operating messages). Confirmation of BACnet event notifications.
Watchlist
The watch list shows the most important properties of selected objects. Objects can be compiled from the same or different devices.
Trend data
Read out trend data. Display the trend
data as a curve or as a list
Other features / supported functions
OWS profile: The BACnet standard defines various profiles that describe the corresponding device classes or the functional scope of the respective device. (B)OWS stands for "(BACnet) Operator WorkStation".
Changing the values in the BACnet properties
Zoom: Individual object properties are displayed in a separate window in large font (full screen) and updated dynamically. This means that the change in this property can be observed on the screen from a long distance.
Backup/Restore: BACeye can perform a BACnet backup and restore. This can be used to back up and restore BACnet devices.
BACnet interface: The connection to the BACnet network is made via TCP/IP. This requires a LAN or WLAN connection to the network with the BACnet devices. The BACnet UDP port is adjustable. BACeye supports the
"ForeignDevice" (FD) function for connection to existing BBMD.
