BACnet/SC in practice - understanding and using certificates
An intensive day for all those who work with BACnet/SC - or will soon have to do so.
BACnet/SC (Secure Connect) is more than just a new chapter in the standard: it is the basis for secure communication in building automation. This is associated with a topic that often causes uncertainty in practice - working with certificates.
In this workshop, we will overcome this hurdle. Step by step. Theoretically sound and practically tested.
Contents at a glance
Theory compact (approx. 1.5h):
Introduction to BACnet/SC and the transition from BACnet/IP
Security mechanisms and architecture
Relevant requirements from standards and practice
Intensive practice (approx. 5 hours):
Creation and management of CA certificates in different ways
Step-by-step integration of different device types into a BACnet/SC network
native BACnet/SC devices
BACnet/IP or MS/TP devices via routers (e.g. UBR) - Modbus devices that we first bring to BACnet and then to the BACnet/SC network
Joint network test: All devices should be visible and able to communicate with each other at the end
Target group
The workshop is aimed at planners, system integrators, manufacturers and technicians who already have experience with BACnet. Basic knowledge is assumed - the focus is clearly on practical implementation and consolidation.
Prerequisites
Please bring:
Laptop + accessories
Own devices (BACnet/SC/IP/MSTP, Modbus, etc.)
We require brief documentation of the devices in advance so that we can prepare the practical part in a targeted manner. Please send the documents to info@mbs-solutions.de.
