We are MBS.
We build. We question. We do.
We employ doers, tinkerers, artists, and problem solvers.
We don't believe in working by the book, but rather in curiosity, respect, and cooperation on an equal footing.
For us, this is only an interim result.
We have been developing hardware and software for industrial and building automation for over 35 years.
Not loud. But effective.
Not playful. But well thought out.
Made in Germany.
Our gateway platform is flexible, open, and grows with you.
In addition, we offer customized software and hardware development, OEM solutions, consulting, training, support, and on-site commissioning.
We build systems that really work in the real world.
And we are looking for people who want more than just writing code.
If you want to do things better than yesterday:
Welcome to MBS.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for the next possible date for a
Software Tester (m/f/d)
BACnet Systems & DALI
What you do with us
You test software where it will actually have to work later:
in real BACnet and DALI systems, in an accredited test laboratory.
You ensure that building automation systems are reliable, interoperable, and compliant with standards —before they cause problems out in the field.
Specifically, this means:
Testing software
You plan, conduct, and evaluate software tests for BACnet devices / DALI devices and applications. Functionality, interoperability, conformity—structured and traceable.
You work with manual and automated tests, search for errors, make them reproducible, and help find solutions.
You document everything clearly: test cases, reports, results—in a way that is understandable for both technical staff and customers.
Understanding standards & thinking ahead about processes
You work with international standards such as ISO 16484-5 / ASHRAE / IEC 62386 and keep our testing knowledge up to date.
You will support interlaboratory tests, further develop test instructions, and help to continuously improve our laboratory processes.
You think for yourself—and contribute suggestions when something can be done better, more clearly, or more efficiently.
Talking to customers
You explain test results, discuss technical details, and help customers improve their products.
You present results in a comprehensible manner—objectively, clearly, and on an equal footing.
What you bring to the table
Your background
Training or studies in computer science, electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics – or comparable.
Experience in software testing, QA, or technology is helpful but not essential. If you are a structured thinker, curious, and interested in technology, we would be a good fit—even if you are changing careers.
Your working methods
You analyze logically, recognize patterns, and get to the root of problems.
Networks, interfaces, or protocols (e.g., BACnet/IP, Modbus) don't scare you—or you're eager to learn about them.
Programming or scripting (e.g., Python) is a plus, but not a must. We'll teach you.
Your personality
You work carefully and accurately—even when dealing with complex issues.
You communicate clearly (fluent in German, good English).
You enjoy working in a team, taking on responsibility, and providing expert support to customers.
What we offer you
Technically challenging tasks in a stable field with a promising future: smart buildings, IoT, building automation.
A modern, accredited testing laboratory with real systems – no theory.
Structured training, continuing education, and certifications (e.g., BACnet, test automation).
Flexible working hours, attractive benefits, and quick decision-making processes.
A collegial team that shares knowledge and takes quality seriously.
Your role with us
You ensure that software delivers what it promises.
Not loud. But effective.
If you want to truly understand technology—and make it better—we look forward to receiving your application.
