BACnet International welcomes MBS as a new member

The BACnet International family continues to grow - with MBS, a provider of building automation solutions

The BACnet community is pleased to welcome MBS as the newest BACnet International member with Silver status. MBS has been an innovator in industrial and building automation for over 30 years. Its range of services includes an all-round service, customized software and hardware development, OEM products, consulting, training and support as well as on-site commissioning.

"Over the past 20 years, we at MBS have been able to familiarize ourselves with the requirements of BACnet products down to the last detail and continuously integrate these products into our products. These include MBS Universal Gateways, routers and BACeye - the 'Swiss army knife' for BACnet building automation," says Nils-Gunnar Fritz, CEO, MBS GmbH. "We also have a BACnet test laboratory in which we use BTF, our BACnet test framework, which has now become the industry standard. By becoming a member of BACnet International, we are now formally underlining this very successful collaboration. We are confident that this membership will enable us to significantly raise our profile outside Europe."

MBS is one of more than 140 BACnet International members who, as leading providers of building automation solutions, are helping to promote BACnet as a global communication protocol.

"MBS has played an important role in the global acceptance of the BACnet protocol through its broad range of testing capabilities," said Andy McMillan, President and Managing Director, BACnet International. "We look forward to working with MBS in the future and becoming more closely involved with the association through membership."

Information about BACnet International
BACnet International is an industry association that facilitates the successful use of the BACnet protocol in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, training programs and promotional activities. BACnet International also monitors activities in the BACnet Test Laboratories (BTL) and maintains a list of products tested worldwide. The BACnet standard was developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and made publicly available so that manufacturers can develop product systems with appropriate interoperability. BACnet International supports the work of the ASHRAE Standards Committee and all BACnet-specific interest groups worldwide. BACnet International members include building owners, consulting engineers and facility managers, as well as companies involved in the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and maintenance of control devices that use BACnet for communication.
