Universal BACnet Router for BACnet/SC
UBR-01 XT
Connect BACnet networks. Implement BACnet/SC in stages.
The MBS Universal BACnet Router UBR-01 XT connects BACnet/MS/TP via RS-485, BACnet/Ethernet, BACnet/IP, and BACnet/SC. It routes data packets between individual network segments and enables the segment-by-segment migration of existing BACnet/IP networks to BACnet Secure Connect.
A faster CPU and more RAM provide the performance foundation for large BACnet networks. This enables the UBR-01 XT to process large amounts of data and serve as a hub in a BACnet/SC network.
Gradually Migrate Existing BACnet/IP Networks to BACnet/SC
Large BACnet infrastructures often cannot be fully migrated to BACnet/SC all at once. The UBR-01 XT therefore enables the targeted migration of individual network segments.
Within a building, communication can initially continue to use BACnet/IP. Connections between buildings or selected network segments can already be switched to BACnet/SC.
This allows existing components to continue to be used, and individual areas to be modernized step by step. It is not necessary to replace all of the existing hardware at once. This makes the transition to encrypted BACnet communication cost-effective.
BACnet/SC Hub for Large Data VolumesThe UBR-01 XT features a faster CPU and more RAM than the previous generation of routers. The new hardware enables the processing of large data volumes within extensive BACnet infrastructures.
In a BACnet/SC network, the UBR-01 XT can be used as a hub. This makes it suitable for large properties and networked building structures where BACnet/SC is to be implemented in phases.
Secure Element, Secure Boot, and Encrypted Data
An integrated Secure Element enhances the security architecture of the UBR-01 XT. Digital certificates can be securely stored in this separate hardware component. The Secure Element also provides the foundation for a secure boot process. This allows the system to detect tampering with the bootloader or kernel. Encryption of the entire file system on the SD card enables the system, as well as customer-specific user and configuration data, to be stored in encrypted form.
Configuration and Analysis via the Web Interface
The entire configuration process is accessible via the integrated web interface. This allows settings to be configured without the need for additional configuration software. The web interface also supports analysis of the BACnet network. Documentation, system information, and images can be stored in the router and retrieved as needed.
Detecting Slave Devices in BACnet/MS/TP Networks
The UBR-01 XT supports the MS/TP slave proxy functions "Auto-Slave Discovery" and "Manual Slave Proxy." These functions allow slave devices to be detected in the BACnet network using "Who-Is" and "I-Am" telegrams.

Made in Germany
The XT Series circuit boards are manufactured in Europe. Final assembly takes place at the MBS facility in Krefeld.
MBS develops its own gateway platform and supports projects from selection and planning through commissioning to long-term support.
BACnet compliance. Independently certified.
The UBR-01 XT is certified by the independent certification body WSPCert in accordance with DIN EN ISO 16484-5 (BACnet Protocol Revision 26).
The certification confirms compliance with the tested BACnet requirements and provides a reliable basis for planning and integration.
