KNX. Understanding it from the ground up. Using it safely.

Five days. Lots of hands-on practice. One clear goal: to plan, design, and commission KNX projects independently.

In our official KNX introductory course, you won’t just learn how KNX works. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with ETS6 and KNX products from various manufacturers. This turns theoretical knowledge into practical confidence—from initial planning to systematic troubleshooting.

After completing the course, you will be able to design and commission your own KNX projects, expand existing systems, and diagnose faults effectively.

Here's what you'll learn in the course:

  • Fundamentals of KNX Data Transmission

  • Installation and Assembly Guidelines

  • KNX Devices and Their Applications

  • Introduction to Working with the ETS6

  • Planning, Design, and Commissioning of KNX-TP Products and Systems

  • Lighting Control with Switching and Dimming

  • Shading and Central Functions

  • Use and Design of Line Couplers

  • Diagnosis and Systematic Troubleshooting

  • Practical Tips for Working with KNX on a Daily Basis

Practical Experience That Sticks
Numerous hands-on exercises help you not only understand the technical fundamentals but also apply them directly. You’ll work with KNX products from various manufacturers and learn what really matters when it comes to planning, project design, and commissioning.

Your Certification
On the last day of the course, you will take a theoretical and practical certification exam. This will provide you with a solid foundation for your future work with KNX and document the qualifications you have earned with the corresponding certificate.

Who is the basic course intended for?
The course is designed for planners, project managers, system integrators, and electrical contractors who want to plan, install, and commission KNX projects on their own.

Your KNX Instructor,
The course is led by KNX expert and instructor Peter Sperlich. He combines in-depth KNX knowledge with practical experience and shows you how individual components can be combined to create a reliably functioning building automation system.
